Videogame addiction as explained by Dr. Raun Melmed (ABC, Phoenix, AZ)

I`m pretty sure among the faculty at OSU`s School of Communication knows a study about the difference in news reporting between Fox-affiliated versus others, like ABC-affiliated, news organizations. Anyways, posted online a news article on video game addiction. They interviewed several gamers who told stories about video game addiction behaviours and some such. They interviewed Dr.Raun Melmed, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician, who discussed the issue of video game addiction in a well-informed fashion since he had first-hand experience and is well informed of the research. Quite the contrast to psychiatrists whose notable expertise is having written a general interest book (e.g. Cooper Lawrence, Carole Lieberman).

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The research cited in the online article are  Gentile et al. (2009) in Psychological Science, Swing et al. (2010) in Pediatrics, Desai et al. (2010) also in Pediatrics, Ferguson (2010) in Journal of Psychiatric Research which was inferred from the mention of the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Ferguson (2010) in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence.
