A slight reality check for technological advancement effect research

FPS2 from Pereira's Nerf Now!

Besides videogame blogs, webcomics are also a valuable source of videogame culture as it reflects some of the gamer mindset, attitudes and tics. This is what I love about what gamers think of graphics until the frames per second drops. So, a slight reality check among those who research graphical realism, check your participants’ settings on graphics. They might lower them because either their machine can’t handle it, find some features distract (lens flare!), or those FPS dropped at an unacceptable level.

Okay, okay, this may not apply to console games because these videogames must conform to the console’s specs, but still I think we need to know what gamers and others alike think of graphical realism, fun or immersion?
